and allocates the same amount of extra taxis for the 3 day January Convention.

Thus holding with past history, TA once again sticks it to Las Vegas Taxi Drivers. With many drivers struggling to even earn Minimum Wage now, this incompetent and likely corrupt Taxicab Authority blatantly ignores what is fast becoming a National Depression and does whatever the Medallion Owners order them to. In this case allocate the exact same extra amount of taxis as last year (pre-Depression).

Here is an article from CES themselves saying they expect a 10% decline in business minimum.http://www.investors.com/editorial/IBDArticles.asp?artsec=16&issue=20081222

The Consumer Electronics Association, organizer of the annual trade show, expects 2,700 companies to exhibit at CES 2009, down 10% from a year ago.

The group is estimating that exhibitors will cover 1.7 million square feet, down 8% from a year ago. The show, which runs Jan. 8-11 in Las Vegas, is expected to draw 130,000 attendees, down 8% from the prior year, according to the CEA.

Some media reports have speculated that falling hotel room rates over the last couple of months could be a sign that the show might be even more poorly attended this year. Reservations from CES attendees typically pack Las Vegas.

so…Thanks Gordon Walker and the other Taxicab Authority Board Members who have reduced 8,000 licensed Taxicab Drivers in Las Vegas to the poverty lines!
