OK so I have been driving this model of car now for almost a year. Who better than a Las Vegas Taxi Driver to review his experience behind the wheel of one of these cars? lol.

Verdict: I wouldn’t buy one.

Where shall I start?

How about the fact if you burn-out a headlight on one of these, the mechanic (and yes you will need one for this normally ridiculously simple repair) will be required to basically remove the entire front-end of the car to get at the headlights. Yep the entire front of the car has to be dropped to replace a frigging headlight, kid you not.

Here’s another beauty on the Malibu. The levers which one uses to adjust the seat angle? Well the levers are “plastic” which slip on top of metal studs. I don’t think I have seen such unique engineering since High School when a buddy bought a Ford Fiesta, which we destroyed in a semester.

Anyhow the car I am stuck with for another month or so has chronic brake issues and now has developed a nasty lack of acceleration problem. I just love hitting the gas and feeling no response.

The cab company has had this lemon back to the Chevy Dealer at least 3 times for this acceleration stuttering. Apparently they are at a lost for solutions and are probably playing the warranty expire game.

Anyhow long story short, If you want the advice of a cabbie, buy a VAN. I did years ago because you know what? they may look stupid, but they are built.
