she very rudely told me they didn’t have the wallet

Date of Occurrence:    11/16/07

Time of Occurrence:    3:00am-3:30am

Location of Occurrence:     Flamingo

Comments:
My Boyfriend and I took Western cab #42 from Treasure Island to Flamingo late last night. I paid the driver and walked away from the cab… realizing too late that I had left my wallet in it. I ran to catch it, however it was too late. My Boyfriend spent 1 1/2 hours with Flamingo Security, obtained the footage of the cab which was identified as Western #42. He called them 2 times… no wallet was turned in. I called this afternoon and spoke with Martha (Manager) and she very rudely told me they didn’t have the wallet. I tried to ask her a couple of detailed questions, mainly trying to see if she would speak directly to the driver but she told me she would not. She was very rude and stated that she was very busy and it was my fault I left it in the cab. I do understand that this is “my fault”… I am not looking for anyone to blame and we have been polite to everyone we have spoken to. However, the communication and assistance from folks involved has been horrible. I just need to get my wallet back or at least confirm that it was stolen by another passenger so I can give up looking and focus on replacing credit cards, ID, etc… Thank you so much for your help. I am scheduled to leave tomorrow at 11:00 am back to Alaska, hopefully I will hear from you before then but if not, I look forward to your call soon. Thanks! In case you need this for the security tape:

She sounded evasive and hung up before I could ask her for her number

Date of Occurrence:    2/5/08

Time of Occurrence:    8:55 -9:00 am

Location of Occurrence:     Tahiti Village

Comments:
I was picked up by Nellis Cab Comany from 5625 W Flamingo Bay Rd Westgate Flamingo Bay by R D Cab #575 and was taken to Tahiti Village on Las Vegas Blvd past the Airport. I had a clear plastic pouch in my purse when I was picked up. I was in the front seat with her and my family was in the back. She was very talkative and keep me distracted the whole ride. My purse was with me on my left side facing her. When we arrived to Tahiti, I paid her from my purse, she said thats all the tip you are going to give me. I then reached in my wallet and gave her $2.00 more. I walked into the Tahiti Village and met with K to do a presentation show to her of the jewerly and it was gone from my purse. I immediately called Nellis Cab @ 702-248-1111 , spoke with the dispatcher and supervisor and the drivers number and left a message. The cab company called the driver and the driver said there was nothing in the cab. My husband C, took a call from R today at 9 Feb. 2008, 10:56am admitting to us that she had my jewelry and that she was sick and not working today. He asked her to drop it off at security at Westgate Flamingo Bay and she said she was sick and it was to far to go and to call her later. She sounded evasive and hung up before I could ask her for her number. Her number was in my caller ID. We called her about 12:04 pm to try to make arrangements to meet and again at 12:57pm and again at 1:15pm as suggested by Office Dudley to give her a chance to return it by 4pm today. We called her again because of no response at 1:40pm and she answered the phone. We requested the jewerly be returned by 4pm and that “I are not playing around” and she responded she would turn it in on Monday to the Nellis Cab Company and promptly hung up on us. I called her back on 1:42pm and left a message again that according to Officer Dudley that you are in receipt of stolen merchandise and you have 10 min to call me back “no harm no foul”. I then called Nellis Cab company that interviened with the supervisor who instructed her to return the jewerly immediately by 3pm. I spoke with Tayna from Nellis Cab, she said she had my jewerly and asked me to describe it. I did and tanya replied that there was only 3 pairs of earring returned. All of my gold and silver diamond necklace slides and silver mother of pearl necklace slides were not there. There is a total of 6 necklace slides missing with an approximate value of $250.00 dollars from a company called “lia sophia”. There was 1 – gold diamond slide, 1 silver diamond slide, 1 – mother of pearl silver slide, 1- oval silver and diamond slide, 1- gold with a purple stone slide, square slide with different colored cut crystals, jem stones and diamonds. I am a consultant for this jewerly and can probably provide pictures of most of the items stolen from my catalog.

we had left my wife’s purse inside the cab

Date of Occurrence:    Feb 16, 2008

Time of Occurrence:    1845-1900hrs

Location of Occurrence:     Harrah’s to terminal 2 Airport

Comments:
To whom it may concern: RE: Lost article February 16, 2008 @7:00pm NV time Please be advised that we were traveling in Las Vegas last week and had taken a cab from our hotel, Harrah’s, on the strip to the international terminal two. At that time, departing the taxi we had left my wife’s purse inside the cab. Noting the error, once inside the terminal- I had run outside to see if the cab was still there, he had left already. I quickly tried to call my wife’s cell to notify the taxi driver, to no avail. I had looked up the phone number of the taxi company that took us to the airport and called the taxi company and explained the situation. Unfortunately, while traveling to the airport I did not take note of the taxi driver’s number, I guessed the number to be 7583 or 7389- I did note that the cab number was 4 digits. I was advised to speak with a dispatch officer where I left my statement with item inside the purse. They were going to call back if they were able to locate the missing item. In the meantime, I continually called the cell phone hoping that the driver would hear the cell phone located on the seat behind him. In all I contacted the telephone 71 times, at 60th try someone had shut off the cell phone- the calls now went to voicemail, I had called back the dispatcher at taxi company and advised her of some more details that my wife and I were able to come up with as well that the cell phone had been shut off. She (Karen) – the dispatch agent had indicated that she has not heard anything yet, and will call. I had asked if there were any procedures that the cab driver must follow if an item was ever left in the cab. I also asked if I could get a ticket or incident number from her so I could track any changes with my case. I was told there was none, it was all done manually. I later found out that there are procedures that the cab driver must follow and contacted the lost and found department with that cab company. I had spoke with Lupe from the lost and found advised her of the lost article and its contents. I later contacted her back and she had not found anything that was returned by a driver matching our contents. I am concerned with the consistency that I have received from this dispatch company, it seemed every time that I contacted the company, I never received a direct answer that any protocols were in place if any items were lost, I know we are not the first people to lose anything with a cab company. I was not satisfied with the results that we received with the dispatch company and the differing comments each time I called. It took me multiple phone calls to find out that there is a lost and found department with in the cab company that I called. Once I found this out, I was able to speak with Lupe, who today was looking after this department, she as helpful as she could be since she did not have in her possession our lost article. We were able to gain the following information from the cab driver, he had just started at 5pm, and we were picked up at 6:45, dropped off at approximately 7:00pm. He may have been of a Caribbean decent. The driver was male approximately 30-45 years of age. The taxi was a minivan made by Chrysler with a tan interior. My initial call was at 7:08pm, to my wife’s cell. We were able to find out that the cab was either white with a red top or white with a black markings, both operated by the same company. Either Union or ACE, and I am within a 60% confidence level that the cab numbers were 75xx. I was hoping that the dispatch was able to keep a roster of their pick up’s and drop off’s. With a little work on there part with the info that we gave them they would have been able to come up with the cab ID. Not to mention the driver should have heard the multiple connection attempts I was trying to make by calling her cell phone. Here is what we have for contents inside the purse: Purse was a small knitted purse 6”x 8” with a long strap (black in color)

Desert cab refused to radio the cabs and ask

Date of Occurrence:    2-16-08

Time of Occurrence:    around midnight

Location of Occurrence:     Summer Bay Resorts

Comments:
Desert Cab Car # 4489 Complaint #1 The Driver asked me if I was willing to pay a couple of dollars more to go the expressway from the airport to Summer Bay Resorts. (Summer Bay is located behind the Imperial) I said Yes. It turned out to be about $12.00 more. I paid about 27.00 before tax and tip and on the way back to the airport it was 12.90 total. Complaint #2 The driver took 3 pieces of luggage. Suitcase, overnight bag and laptop bag and put in the trunk. When we got to the location, I stayed in the back seat to use the credit card machine and the driver went to the trunk to get the luggage for my wife. He gave her the suitcase and overnight bag but not the laptop case. When I got out of the car, the trunk was closed and the driver was back to me. He said the credit card receipt printer was not working so he gave me a Desert Cab blank slip and I wrote the amount in. He indicated he had given the luggage to my wife, I took the slip and he drove off. I checked in and when we got to the room I asked where the laptop case was and she did not have it. She thought I had it. I called Desert Cab to report, within 60 minutes of arrival, that the laptop case was still in the cab. Because the printer was not working in the cab, I did not have the cab number or drivers name. I explained that I had paid with a credit card but they said they would not be able to see records until Monday. I asked that they radio the cabs to see who had dropped me off at the Summer Bay Resorts. I indicated that most cabs were dropping off at hotels and it might be easier for a driver to remember that location. Desert cab refused to radio the cabs and ask. I was told to wait and check the next day with lost and found. When I called Desert Cab on Sunday, they explained that lost and found was closed on Sunday and to call back Monday. I called Monday and it was not turned in. They did track down my credit card to the cab driver but he was off on Monday. They told me they called for him on Monday but he did not respond. On Tuesday the 19th, Jesse at Desert Cab talked to the driver but he indicated that he did not remember a laptop case. I believe there was a good possibility of recovering the laptop if the following had happened: 1. Desert Cab radio the cabs immediately after the report 2. Desert Cab track down the driver before Tuesday the 19th 3. Desert Cab Provide a credit card receipt blank with the cab number and driver name if the printer is not working.

Date of Occurrence:    3/23/08

Time of Occurrence:    9:15 a.m.

Location of Occurrence:     Venetian Hotel to New York New York Hotel

Comments:
We went from the Venetian Hotel in a Nellis Cab #514 at approximately 9:15am on 3/23/08 to New York New New York Hotel. Mrs. is partially disabled and had a difficult time exiting the vehicle. With our assistance, she finally got out and we tried to stop the cab from leaving because we still had to retrieve her camera in the back seat. The driver was not only rude but left even after he saw us trying to stop him. We immediately went inside to the New York Bell Desk and ask for information and called Nellis Cab to report the camera still in the back of the car. Unable to reach anything but a message machine, we left the information as to our hotel, camera description, names & room numbers. We had been informed by the hotel that the lost items had to be turned in every shift end and we could call again in the morning. Monday morning we called Nellis and talked to the dispatcher who put us on hold for over 35 minutes at which time I finally hung up. There is no one to talk with except the message machine. Because it was the Mrs 50th Wedding Anniversary and the camera had over 1000 pictures in it, J decided to stand outside in the taxi area to see if he could find Cab#514. After 5 hours, we finally spotted this guy and demanded the camera. I asked him 3 times for his name before I finally got a name of “Manny” and he said he would go get the camera and bring it back in 30 minutes but we would have to pay for a trip fee. The trip fee turned out to be $40.00 which was nothing more than extortion. Since he did not turn in the camera and it took him almost a hour to return, it makes me wonder how many other visitors never saw their possessions again and Nellis lost and found never had a record. I have been going to Vegas for 40 years and never had anything but friendly, courteous and polite cab drivers. Simply because this was the first time the Garrison’s had ever been to Vegas and would be “chopped liver” had they been there by themselves, I hope you can do something to retrieve their $40.00 and restore the excitement they had for Las Vegas until this incident. They are currently driving up Route 66 and can be reached on their cel phone or you may call or e-mail me at anytime.

I had a Elvis-a-Rama Taxi Fare Receipt

Date of Occurrence:    April 10

Time of Occurrence:    7:30PM

Location of Occurrence:     Hilton Grand Vacation Club on Strip

Comments:
I rode a cab from the Venetian to the Hilton Grand Vacation Club at approximately 7:30PM on April 10th. The driver dropped me off and picked up another fair before I had a chance to get my bag out of the back. So he ended up driving off with my luggage (a black roller bag with my business card attracted in yellow card pouch). I had a receipt from the driver which indentified the company as Elvis-a-Rama Taxi Fare Receipt 3401 Industrial Rd. Las Vegas, NV 702-308-7200 and www.elvisaroma.com. Well it turns out that the phone number is disconnected. So I ended trying to call every cab company in Vegas searching for my bag using your website. Most were polite and tried to help or if not there they had a number where you could leave a measage. It turns someone from Nellis Cab Co. (3564 West Naples, Las Vegas, Nevada 89103 Phone: 702-248-1111) had the bag the called my home phone number Friday – since I did not leave my home number I assume they read a bag tag and just called that number. Not knowing they had my bag I called them a second time at 702-248-1111 which is number on your website to once again ask if they found my bag. I got a message from home at that they had my bag and I should call a second number 702-367-4004. So I called them back AGAIN and they told me lost and found was locked up and I could not get my bag until Monday. I explained I called several times earlier in the day to the 702-248-1111 number but was only was able to leave a voicemail message. It was only after I went to your website and found the other number 702-873-8012 number that I got through. I explained I would be gone on Monday she said call back Saturday AM there would be a supervisor. I called them yet again April 12, 2008 Saturday morning and the supervisor at Nellis Cab Co. laughed at me and no way would they call someone in ‘just to get a bag.” He said don’t try to tell him how to do his job and I could do what ever I wanted he did not care. Great commercial for LAS VEGAS tourism – his cab driver takes off with my bag – his cab driver gives me bogus receipt – his cab company doesn’t answer the phone at the number listed on DMV website, his cab company doesn’t responded to my messages when lost and found is open on Friday, and now no one even bothers unlock their lost on found until Monday morning –I am now guessing that I will have to pay for them to ship it back to me. WOW what a great commercial for Las Vegas Tourism! Just thought you might want to know Thanks.
